ROCKY MORTON STUDIO
“Morton’s quest is defined as much by Carl Jung and his theory of archetypes as it is by Kandinsky and his theory of dimensional form. The ‘space’ Jung’s postulate occupies is that of time - epic time, perhaps, mythic time, but time nonetheless. A fourth dimension of self and civilizational realization. Morton’s work ultimately reaches for this existential apprehension without relying on narrative models such as Jung’s; it begins and ends as abstract painting, seeking to evoke nothing already seen.”
